Projects

971 Mechanical Engineering delivered the mechanical installation of an AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system at a distribution facility in Rotherham. The project included the installation of the AutoStore grid structure, vertical steel framework, and the integration of workstations and access points required for high-density robotic storage and picking. Our team worked within a live industrial environment to assemble and align the structural and mechanical components that support the AutoStore robots and bin handling system, creating a compact, high-capacity storage solution designed to maximise floor space, improve picking accuracy, and increase overall operational efficiency.

971 Mechanical Engineering delivered the installation of a pull mode conveyor system at a major distribution facility in Manchester, designed to support controlled, demand-driven product flow through the operation. The system integrates powered belt conveyors, heavy-duty roller beds, curved transfer sections, and automated routing to ensure items are released only when required by downstream processes. Our team completed the full mechanical installation, alignment, and integration of the conveyor and support structures, creating a reliable, efficient handling system that improves picking accuracy, reduces congestion, and supports consistent throughput across the site.

971 Mechanical Engineering delivered the installation of a large-scale matrix conveyor system at a high-volume distribution facility in Scotland. The project involved the mechanical assembly and integration of a complex network of inclined and horizontal conveyor lines designed to sort, merge, and route products at speed across multiple processing lanes. Working within a vast, operational warehouse environment, our team installed the structural steelwork, conveyor frames, guarding, and access platforms required to support continuous automated flow, helping to create a highly efficient, scalable sortation system built for sustained high-throughput operation.

Installation of a six-tier shuttle storage system, conveyor networks, Gartner hanging systems, and a 40 km micro-trolley system at a high-volume Wakefield distribution centre.

Installation of 3 km of heavy-duty pallet conveyor and four turntables in Bridgend, including the removal and reinstallation of an active infeed line to maintain live operations.

Installation of a 24 km manual and automated hanging trolley Gartner system in Roosendaal, enabling high-volume garment handling across a large-scale distribution facility.

Assembly and installation of a fully automated crane, shuttle, and conveyor system in Rochdale, including 16 high-speed cranes, multi-level shuttle storage, Rota picking stations, and spiral conveyors.

Mechanical and electrical installation of an automated roller bed conveyor system in Leipzig, feeding picking stations and lift storage within a high-throughput logistics operation.

Installation of a 44 km micro trolley sorting system and 25 m high-speed storage cranes for a major clothing brand’s new distribution headquarters in Barcelona, delivering a fully operational, high-throughput logistics facility.

Full assembly and installation of a 40-lane automated tote storage and conveyor system in Burnley, including restock cranes, spiral conveyors, tote stackers, and high-volume infeed and outfeed lines.

Installation of two mezzanine floors and integrated walkways within a live sortation system at a Coventry distribution site, enabling safe access and operational expansion without disrupting daily operations.
